RBBA Launches Girls Baseball Program
On November 26th, 2018 the Rockville Baseball Association officially launched its Girls Baseball Program, and they did so in style. That evening, Justine Siegal, the first woman to be hired as a coach by a Major League Baseball team, hosted a clinic for girls in the Rockville and Montgomery County area. For this spring 2019 season the RBBA will be looking to field a girls only baseball team in its Spring 2019 baseball program, and attempt to field a team in the Baseball For All National Tournament this summer.
Sophie Zuckman, one of the girls at the clinic, said, "Baseball isn't just for boys anymore. With RBBA's Clinic for girls and its new girls program, we are throwing open the doors to baseball for everyone. Thank you to Justine Siegal for working with our new players and kicking off our girls program."
Any and all girls interested in playing in either the Spring or the summer tournament should contact Harrison Meyers at President@rbba.org.
